Description: The Lesser Flamingo is an abundant species with over ca. 2.5 million individuals; these birds are extreme habitat specialists, with the majority of birds occurring in alkaline lakes in the Great Rift Valley in Africa. It is expected that climate change will affect their exclusive habitats, which will in turn lead to a dramatic population decline.
