Migratory birds are awesome: Lets Save them Campaign

The '' Migratory birds are awesome: lets Save them campaign'' is a multifaceted celebration of World Migratory Bird Day 2016. Ghana Wildlife Society (GWS) will engage its junior members of the wildlife clubs in an awareness campaign on the effects of illegal trade and killing of migratory birds. Documentaries highlighting the killing and trade will be showed to children in three clubs close to wetlands to raise awareness on the 10th of May. News paper articles will be published in the national dailies to commerorate the WMBD 2016.

2016 World Migratory Bird Day Celebration in Ethiopia

The 2016 World Migratory Bird Day will be celebrated  for the 7th time in Ethiopia with events of Bird Watching, Educational Activity and Media event. The dates for the event are from 10-13 May 2016. People from different professional backgrounds and local communities will be invited on the occation.

"Illegal Killing of Migratory Birds" Educational Lecture in Dsegh Village, Armenia

 

For many years Armenian Society for the Protection of Birds NGO (BirdLife in Armenia) has participated in World Migratory Bird Day campaign and has organised various events, such as educational lectures, birdwatching trips, movie presentations and many other activities related to the topic of Migratory Birds.

This year, our team made a decision to organise an Educational Lecture in Nature Visitor Center in Dsegh Village (Lori Province, northern part of Armenia).

Birdwaching and Counting

Last ten year bird consultant use this place for beginer birdwacher to lear shorebirds or waterbirds. and this place is favorite place or stop over migratory shorebirds, that's why we use this place for birwatching, identification or cunting.

Living in Harmony with Migratory Birds

Over the last 2 years, Biodiversity Society found that migratory birds, especially Oriental Honey Buzzard and Japanese Sparrow-hawk use the same place in Mount Slamet Forest for roosting site. Some of them roosted in the village which are really close to human settlements. In order to increase awareness on local people, we would like to promote this information to local villagers, so they can live in harmony with migratory birds and protect the area from poachers who are still frequently present in Indonesia.

Celebrating World Migratory Bird Day 2016 in Limboto Lake, Gorontalo

Gorontalo Biodiversity Forum is going to celebrate the World Migratory Bird Day 2016 for the first time in Gorontalo region of Sulawesi, Indonesia. The main objective of the event is to raise public awareness of migratory bird and their conservation action especially on protecting their habitat of Limboto Lake, one of the important spot for migratory bird and other endemic faunas in Gorontalo. On the day of 10 May 2016, we are going to have birding at Limboto Lake in the morning and then continuing with educational activity and media trip.

Igdir Aras River Bird Paradise World Migratory Bird Day and Global Big Day

We will celebrate the 10. anniversary of Aras River Bird Banding, Research, and Education Center with bird banding demonstration, birdwatching, a big day attempt, a press conference and our campaign to www.savearas.org from the pointless Tuzluca Dam.
