A Seminar to promote awareness on the the intricate interdependency on people and nature : "Environment, Man and Migratory Species''.

The Organization for Positive Sustainability Culture in Nigeria is commemorating the world migratory bird day 2017 to expose high school students and teachers to the linkages between migratory birds, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development. The seminar  will be held on May 10th, 2017 in Calabar (Cross-River), aiming to promote the students understanding on the fragility of our environment, foster a sense of connection to the natural world and encouage conservation actions among them.

The seminar will be attended by six(6) high schools within the urban area of Calabar (Cross-River). The event will feature; Talks on environment and migratory birds, a walk down birding lane, videos, painting, competitions and other activities designed to educate and develop a sense of environmental stewardship within the students.

The event will focus on the theme : “Our Planet Their Home”  THEIR FUTURE IS OUR FUTURE ...A healthy planet for migratory birds and people. It will also  higlight the importance of conserving migratory birds, the interdependence of people and nature, and most especially people and migratory animals - in particular birds, as they share the same planet and thus the same limited resources.

The celebration will be wrapped up with the inuaguration of OPSCN Migratory Bird Ambassadors for 2017, adding to the ever growing community of young champions advocating for environmental conservation, sustainability and protection in their schools, homes communities and little spheres of influence.
