Migratory Bird Day & Earth Day with Umpqua Valley Audubon Society

Umpqua Valley Audubon Society will have a booth again this year as a part of the Migratory Bird Day celebration which has become a regular part of the Earth Day festivities at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.

Our main activity will be one for children – making a simple bird feeder using a pine cone into which they will pack suet and then roll into bird seed.  This gooey cone will be placed in a plastic bag so the kids can take it home and hang it by the wire attached to the cone and watch the birds that come to feed.
