Bird Watching ,Bird Counting and Anti Plastic Awareness Program for World Migratory Bird Day

Today we conducted the bird watching and bird counting event at the wetland area Mehrun Lake near Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India. The citizens were briefed about the hazards of plastic and discussed about the solutions of reducing the use of plastic, recycling and reusing the plastic. 21 birders had participated in the event as citizen scientist. We sited 37 species of birds, among them 11 species are wadder birds. Among the  local migratory birds, one species is Blue Tailed Bee Eater , which is from Himalayas India. 

We shared the event on whats app, e-paper, facebook as well as shared an article in newspaper in varnacular language.
