Iran is a vast country and not only it is located in migration corridor but also hosts millions of migratory birds every year both in the north and also in the south in Caspian Sea and Persian Gulf respectively. Destructive activities such as illegal killing, taking and trade of migratory birds in every country can cause decreasing the number of world migratory birds and Iran also is not an exception.
In our company "iranbirdig.com" which established recently for inbound bird watching tours we decided to take our first move by holding a free birdwatching tour for tourists who were in Tehran in World Migratory Bird Day in cooperatin with Tarlan Birdwatching Group. Fortunately we did it although the party size was small in a seasonal wetland near Varamin City named Shokr Abad. We also talked to a hunter in this day and convinced him not to kill the birds. I think even with these small activities we can do something for saving birds.
