WMBD Mongolia 2017

Many countries around the world have been celebrating World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) since 2006 with the purpose of raising public awareness of the need for the conservation of migratory birds and their habitats. Each year, on the second weekend in May, people around the world take action and organize public events such as bird festivals, education programs, exhibitions and bird-watching excursions to celebrate WMBD.

Since 2010, Mongolian Ornithological Society (MOS) has been celebrating the event WMBD Mongolia. This year, we will hold two events in Mongolia, first on 6th May in Ulaanbaatar city and 14th May in Tsogt tsetsii sum, Umnugobi province in collaboration with Clean Energy Asia LLC, Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia, and National University of Mongolia. The events involve bird walks, talks, contests, exhibition of children's artworks, and movie watches. Participation is open to anyone who is interested. The children's art works will be exhibited in the exhibition hall of the Freshwater Resources and Nature Conservation Center in Ulaanbaatar as well as in the High School of Tsogt tsetsii Sum Center where the events will take place.

Agenda will be sent on request. If you are interested in participating the events, please call us to +976-98100148 and +976-88180148.
