Initial Bird Survey in Panjang Island, West Sumatra, Indonesia

The event will be held in Panjang Island, off shore of Lubuk Basung City in West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra, Indonesia. It will be between mid to late May 2017, involving a handful of students from Biology Department in Andalas University, Padang. The bird survey, as main core of this first bird survey in this island, will be performed by using several appropriate techniques, such as mist-netting, point count with transect line and digiscoping. As we hope we can add some (migrant) water bird species into the checklist of West Sumatra, at least we can still gain a meaningful information about birds in this area.
