Celebrating the World Migratory Birds Day

Afghanistan is among of the rich countries in terms of Biological Diversity. The country’s geography hosts a large number of migratory species. Migratory birds, on their way, stay in different ecosystems of the country for breeding and resting. However, their journey exposes them to various types of threats, which in most cases are induced by human. As a new member to the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS), Afghanistan is committed to conserve and enable sustainable use of migratory species. Therefore, the National Environmental Protection Agency, together with UN Environment and the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), is planning to celebrate the World Migratory Birds Day.
