"Awareness Raising on World Migatory Bird Day(WMBD) in Cameroon"

Activities for the event include:

-A water birds poster contest for all environmental clubs in the Southwest, West and Northwest Regions;

-A migratory birds poster contest by all students from secondary school through University;

-An essay contest for all students from secondary school to University on “The Ecological Importance Of Birds To Our National Economy”;

-Two bird watching events in Fako Division with a visit to the mangrove forest in Tiko on 9 May 2010;

All environmental clubs shall record all birds in their school environment.

-A workshop on the “Awareness Raising on World Migatory Bird Day(WMBD) in Cameroon” on 8 May 2010 at University of Buea.
NB;

The following presentations were made during the workshop;
-Overview of Migratory birds and their origin.
-Contribution of birds to Biodiversity Management.
-Government Policy on wildlife Management in Cameroon with focus on birds.
-Major threats to bird conservation.
-Role of students in bird conservation.
-ERuDeF contribution and bird conservation in Cameroon.
-Resolution and ways forward to bird Conservation.
