Bird migration and climate change

Karisoke Research Center (KRC) goal is “to conserve through research, protection and education the mountain gorilla their habitat and the biodiversity of the Virunga Volcanoes in collaboration with our partners”. In 2006, KRC started the research on biodiversity including Research on Birds, Plants and Golden Monkeys.

On the occasion of the celebration of the WMBD, KRC will celebrate the event on different dates between 13 and 30 May 2007 with the student and staff of Universities and High Educations Institutes including High Institute of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and National University of Rwanda.

Two presentations will be given at different occasions:
One on the climate change by Education program officer at KRC, Mr Serge Nsengimana
Second: Impact of climate change on migratory bird species by an ornithology researcher at KRC, Claudien Nsabagasani.
