Birds embody freedom and connect us across cultures. 180 organizations have declared this the Year of the Bird, including National Geographic, Audubon, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Birds wing their way wherever they like - borders are irrelevant to them. They bring the lush beauty of the tropics here to arid Colorado, sing to us and our southern neighbors, and remind us that we are all connected.
Our project aims to link local writers and musicians, naturalists and art lovers, the US and the rest of the Americas, and make us all more whole as a result. And with our fiddles and flutes and piano and paintbrushes and pens, we just want to sing the joy of birds.
