Statement by Mr. Erik Solheim on World Migratory Bird Day 2018

Migratory birds are under threat from every corner: they are losing their habitats, subjected to illegal killing and suffering from the impacts of climate change. This makes the work of CMS and AEWA all the more critical as we strive to save such a precious component of the natural world.

The keys to success are education, collaboration and inclusion, and these will be the big themes of World Migratory Bird Day celebrations. In addition, this year they are working hand in hand with Environment for the Americas to get the message to even more people.
