Linking wetlands and learners for birds

On each day 40 learners (Grades 4 - 6) and their teachers will join the volunteers from BirdLife Port Natal and the Durban Botanic Gardens to learn about birds, how they use wetlands, how they link different wetlands (e.g. the White-winged Flufftail is a very rare bird that migrates between the wetlands of Ethiopia and those of South Africa, the only two places on earth where this species occurs) and different countries. They will also get the opportunity to watch birds through binoculars and bird scopes - an activity that is usually greatly enjoyed by all. Afterwards, they will each write a message about what they learned to another learner.
