World Migratory Bird Day at Aras River Bird Paradise

KuzeyDoga Society Aras Bird Research and Education Center is going to have an educational activity and birdwatching for both university, high school students and visitors from Igdir province. KuzeyDoga Society is organizing this event with the collaboration of Igdir Directorate of the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs and Igdir University. The team is going to share the importance of this wetland for migratory bird species. It hosts 13 bird, 6 mammal, and 6 reptile and amphibian species globally threatened or near threatened with extinction. Another 12 bird species found here are threatened with extinction in Turkey. Most of Turkey’s bird species and 40% of Turkey’s land animal species have been recorded at 10 km2 Aras River Bird Paradise. Along with birdwatching at Aras River Bird Paradise, bird ringing(banding) will be shown and shared at the station. "Save Aras " campaign that's againts the planned Tuzluca dam will be shared.
