World Migratory Bird Day 2011

14 May: Birdwatching with local guides at the Chitwan National Park with a focus on migratory birds.

15 May: Bird conservation and education program for students in the bird education society office.

Migratory Bird Exhibition and WMBD Workshop at Jammu University Department of Environmental Sciences jointly with WWF-India, J&K

Photo exhibition of Migratory Birds at Gharana wetland and WMBD Workshop at the Department of Environmental Sciences Jammu University jointly with WWF-India, J&K. About 100 university and school students will attend the event. Five keynote speakers will speak about the Bar-headed Goose, Black-necked Crane, wetlands and migratory routes.

Conserving Water Birds of the Ramsar site Loktak

We will conduct a study of the habitats of water birds at the Ramsar site Loktak.

En el lago de la Cocha, habitan muchas especies de aves del corredor andino amazonico,con comportamientos migratorios se han registrado cerca de 21 especies, entre patos, garzas, gaviotas, loros, golondrinas, entre otras. La jornada inciara con un conversatorio sobre el estado actual de las aves migratorias en el humedal de la Cocha con niños y jóvenes citadinos, campesinos e indigenas de la zona.

Prendi parte alla giornata mondiale degli uccelli migratori del 14 -15 Maggio 2011 con le visite guidate nelle Oasi WWF.
Sabato 14 maggio: Lago di Burano partenza alle ore 10 e alle ore 15.
Domenica 15 maggio: Laguna di Orbetello partenza alle ore 10.
Un’occasione unica per conoscere il mondo degli uccelli migratori e il ruolo insostituibile delle zone umide della Maremma e delle Oasi WWF.

Tree planting in degraded parts of the forest at Mt Kenya

Tree planting and education talk on WBMD at the Mt Kenya Resource centre. School children and community groups are invited to participate and will try to target more than 100 persons, to whom we will offer bird watching and bird recording.

Bird watching at the Important Bird Area (IBA) Kinangop Grassland

Kinangop Grasslands is the home of an endemic bird, the Sharpe's Longclaw. School children and parents will assemble at the eco-resource centre where discussions about WMBD will be held and bird watching will follow. Presentations by children and video shows will be given in the evening of 14th and 15th May 2011.
