This year is an extremely important one for birds because of the commotion that the “Year of the Bird” is bringing to the public. Leading environmental and bird-focused organizations such as National Geographic, National Audubon and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology are celebrating the centennial of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, which is unarguably the most important piece of legislation passed to protect birds.
