Nature and Art: 2019 World Migratory Bird Day by Merced Environmental Literacy Collective

Everyone is welcome to join us for a day of events across California's Central Valley!  We will begin on the western side of Merced County at O'Neill Forebay, part of the Four Rivers Sector of California State Parks.  The next location will be the San Luis National Wildlife Refuge outside of Los Banos.  Early in the afternoon there will be activities at Applegate Park near Beark Creek in the City of Merced.  We will finish the day in the Yosemite Lake area (Merced County Parks), near the University of California Merced.

Throughout the day and among the various locations education, expert lead bird walks and talks, and activities, including field/nature journal will take place.  Participants should bring anything they may need to have a great day out.  This could include their own water, snacks, lunch, sunscreen, hat, insect repellant needs, layered clothing, field/nature journal materials, binoculars, folding chair, etc.  If there is a chance you will pick up garbage, including plastics, please bring your own gloves, bag, "grabber", etc. There is a place for proper disposal of garbage at each location.

All ages, experience, interests, and abilities are welcome!  This is a day of FREE opportunities thanks to partners of the Merced Environmental Literacy Collective coming together to make it possible.  For more information, please contact Jeanne Knapp at (209) 675-0852 or [email protected]
