Introducing Bird Migration phenomenon and initiating birdwatching amongst teens

Khénifra is a small and peaceful city, situated in the heart of the beautiful Middle Atlas in Morocco. This berbere region contains tremandous natural resources: Karstic and volcanic lakes, Cedar forests, rivers, springs, Mouintains and outstanding landscapes; Those habitats offer shleters for thousands of birds migrating between Europe and Africa.

The "Ecole Supérieure de Technologie de Khénifra" which affiliated to Moulay Ismail University is the only academic institution in the area and intends to celebrate the world migratory birds days with the teenagers of the city of Khénifra to initiate them to bird observarion to better protect them and especially to inculcate to them the first lesson of the Birdwatching.
To do this, some senior ornithologists from Moulay Ismail University will organize a field trip to the nearby valley of Oum Rbia River (one of the largest river in Morocco) to observe birds, introduce them to the use of binoculars and how to build bird feeders and nest boxes for resident and migratory breeding birds.
