27th International Camp for the Protection of Raptors and Storks migrating over the Strait of Messina

Starting in 1981, we began long-term efforts to fight and prevent illegal poaching; in 1984 we organized the first annual international camp.
Thanks to our efforts over these many years, poaching has almost disappeared in Sicily.
Activity: From morning to dusk, volunteers monitor the localities where raptor passage is expected; lunch will be in the field. Dinner is back at camp. Weather conditions influence migration, and can stall it for many days, or create the conditions for spectacular one-day flights.
In case of poaching activities, the relevant law enforcement agencies are immediately contacted for intervention.
