Educational Activity

We will carry on a bird watching activity in the surrounding green areas of the Veracruz University-Faculty of Biology (Facultad de Ciencias Biológicas y Agropecuarias of the Universidad Veracruzana). We have planning to make teams with students from this institution from 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. and from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Teams will be attended each hour for a professional ornithologist to teach them how to use binoculars and how can get the main advises to recognize bird species. Each team will have a minimum of three students and maximum 10 students per each hour.

Our organization has been invited to participate in the main festival by the government {KWS} as a key stakeholder in conservation of birds in central rift valley where we will share our work, experience, challenges and threats of birds in the region.

On 12th we shall do a bird walk in Lake Naivasha central landing beach and issue out some lecture on the threats and importance of conserving birds especially the Migratory species

Con motivo de celebrar el Día Mundial de las Aves Migratorias, la Asociación Civil, Generación Salvaguarda Ambiental (GESAAC) invita al público en general a participar en diversas actividades que tendrán verificativo los días 11 y 12 de mayo de 2013, fuera de las instalaciones del Discóbolo, en la Ciudad Deportiva, a partir de las 10:00 a las 14:00 horas.
El objetivo del evento es promover la importancia mutua de las redes ecológicas y los enlaces entre las organizaciones y las personas para la conservación a largo plazo de las aves migratorias.

We will do education and recreation activities for children and adults. Children and guardians will be responsible for teaching visitors at the Zoological Park about the importance of birds, migration and on how to help the conservation of nature.

On two (maybe even three) locations we inform about the Northern Bald Ibis re-introduction project and offer creative activities for children. The focus lies on WMBD's topic "networks". We stress that it is important to work together on different locations to achieve the goal of reintroducing and managing populations of migratory species (hibernation area, breeding site and stop-over sites). Thus, international networking is necessary. That's why we chose to have our activities on more than one location. On each location we talk about the other involved locations including Italy.

We invite everyone to the Greater Spotted Eagle Centre in Goniadz (the Biebrza Valley) to spend a movie evening with us. In order to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day we will be watching nature movies on migratory species, followed by a lecture on the subject.
