Kok Kham Shorebird Conservation Day

Since 2000, Bird Conservation Society of Thailand (BCST), Birdlife international and Kok Kham Bird Club have cooperated to set up this festival to generate public awareness in Thailand and Asia to protect migratory shorebirds and their habitat. The most important bird in this area is the Spoon-billed Sandpiper (less than 400 birds in the world) and other migratory shorebirds. This festival is in the Important Bird Area (IBA) of Thailand.

Wairarapa Moana Matariki Day

Seven schools will be combining to help plant out habitat zones for Biodiversity "observation stations".
The plantings will occur in the morning then the afternoon will be a celebration of the Maori Matariki Festival where the children will fly the kites they have made to celebrate the departure AND return of the Migratory Birds that feed on the lake mudflats during summer.

Comme chaque année l’Association « Les Amis des Oiseaux » (AAO) célèbre la Journée Mondiale des Oiseaux Migrateurs (2013) avec toute une panoplie d’activités qui se déroulent à El Haouaria (Cap Bon) et dans la Zone Importante pour la Conservation des Oiseaux (ZICO) du Djebel Sidi Abiod, qui est un des sites les plus importantes pour la migration des oiseaux en Tunisie.

World Migratory Bird Day

The festival will include an opening session, a workshop for women from 3 different Hima sites (Aanjar, Kfar Zabad, and Al Fakeha Anti-Lebanon) on the Hima concept and sustainable use of natural resources (part of the UN Women Project).

Our organization has been invited to participate in the main festival by the government {KWS} as a key stakeholder in conservation of birds in central rift valley where we will share our work, experience, challenges and threats of birds in the region.

On 12th we shall do a bird walk in Lake Naivasha central landing beach and issue out some lecture on the threats and importance of conserving birds especially the Migratory species

Celebrando el Día Mundial de las Aves Migratorias

Por la mañana del 11 se realizará un taller para niños denominado "Picos y Patas" que muestra las características generales de las aves y su importancia. Por la tarde se tendrá una exposición sobre los seis años de WMBD y el tema de este año a través de paneles explicativos, además se hablará sobre el tráfico de aves y sus consecuencias. Finalmente el 12 en la mañana se observará aves de la laguna Alalay, una laguna urbana que recibe a diversas aves migrantes.

Migratory Bird Festival 2013

A day-long festival organized jointly by the Department of Zoology and the Nature Study & Conservation Club of Jagannath University and IUCN Bangladesh Country office at the Jagannath University Campus, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Bangladesh Bird Club will provide the technical support and the Prokriti O Jibon Foundation (Channel i) will be the media partner for this event.
