Celebrate WMBD! Cerulean Warbler Walk at Eidolon Nature Preserve

Join in the celebration of World Migratory Bird Day with a Spring Cerulean Warbler Walk at PVAS's Eidolon Nature Preserve in Morgan County, WV.  This walk should offer good opportunities to see a variety of migrating and year-round birds before trees are in full foliage. The main attractions in early May are the nesting pairs of rare Cerulean Warblers. This is a species of concern that can be found in considerable numbers at Eidolon at this time of year. Eidolon has become a real destination for them. In addition, there is always the treat of the sights and sounds of many other spring arrivals.

The walk will be free, and anyone with an interest is invited to attend.  Pre-registration is strongly encouraged but not required. Those who wish to join in should plan to arrive at the preserve by 8:30 a.m. where the group will meet in the large parking area inside the gate. Participants should wear sturdy walking shoes or boots, dress appropriately for the prevailing weather and bring water and bug spray. Meet in the parking lot at Eidolon Nature Preserve at 8:30 a.m. The preserve is located on Sideling Hill Mountain Northwest of Great Cacapon. Directions to Eidolon Nature Preserve can be found here.
