Explore the Outdoors: International Migratory Bird Day at Fort Caroline National Memorial

Explore the Outdoors: International Migratory Birds Day’s aim is to connect visitors with the idea that habitat is important for all organisms on Earth, including birds. The event emphasizes the importance of preserving existing habitats.

On Saturday, April 28th, join WJCT, Timucuan Ecological and
Historic Preserve, Timucuan Parks Foundation, and Florida Park
Service for the 5th annual Explore the Outdoors: International
Migratory Bird Day. Join Sid the Science Kid for a great day
exploring the outdoors and learning how to preserve and
protect the habitat that migrating birds rely on and that many
birds call home. This fun family event is free and runs from

10am – 2pm at Fort Caroline National Memorial.

Families will have the opportunity to participate in various activities!

  • Highlight birds that are common to urban areas and can be found within Timucuan Preserve.
  • Increase public awareness and involvement bird conservation and go on family hikes (moderate and advanced options available) guided by Park Rangers to search for nature treasures, win a prize, and plant some beans for their home bird feeders.

This fun family event is free and runs from 10am – 2pm at Fort Caroline. Kids will have the opportunity to become a National Park Junior Ranger and more!
