A BILLION birds die each year during the migratory season due to collisions with windows. Every US home kills about 2 to 10 birds each year due to birds striking windows. There are easy ways to make your windows visible to birds. Visit the Living Cost Plaza for a live demonstration on how you can help prevent bird window collisions.

Guest artists from BUILD Chicago will have art work of migrating birds placed through the zoo leading towards the Living Coast Plaza.

There will be five window panels. Each panel will be covered differently with store purchased tapes and window decals.

BUILD Chicago artists will be present at the Living Coast Plaza, working with guests to create window artwork on one of the window panels that will provide a good example of how to prevent birds from collide with windows at home.

One window panel will be open, with no glass. This will create a guest interactive window that will allow children a chance to dress like a bird, with play wings, and have them “fly” through a window.

There will be a table with a examples of bird food items to show what you can use to feed birds in your own back yards.

Commemorative magnets will be available as a souvenir.
