WMBD Pondicherry National Wildlife Refuge

This tour will explore Airport Marsh in Whitefield (for grassland and marsh birds), then move to Cherry and Little Cherry Ponds in Jefferson (warblers and other songbirds). This annual field trip commemorates the return of migrating birds and the memory of Tudor Richards, NH Audubon’s first President and the “father of Pondicherry”. Bring water, lunch and binoculars. Past field trips have yielded upwards of 100 species of birds! Be prepared to walk 3-5 miles on flat terrain. Stay for as long as you’d like; the last group usually ends around 3 pm. WMBD posters for all participants. Meet at the Airport Marsh in Whitefield at 6:00. The second trip will start at 8:00 at the Pondicherry Trailhead on Airport Road in Whitefield. The trip will cover 3-5 miles on easy terrain. Bring water and lunch.
