World Migratory Bird Day Birding Outing by the Grasslands Naturalists

The Grasslands Naturalists are planning a birding outing to the Purple Springs area in southeastern Alberta on May 12th. This trip is being conducted ostensibly to possibly locate whimbrel, black-bellied plovers, red knots, and other migratory waterfowl as well as looking for special prairie species. The Purple Springs area was selected to familiarize our members and other interested parties in Trail 14 of our Birding Trails of Southeastern Alberta project. Details for these birding trails can be found at: www.natureline.info/gn/birding.php
