Description: Indoor festival with booths, presentations, and activities for adults and kids including a live raptor demonstration. Door prizes and gifts for moms. We may also offer field trips at local sites.
Theme: This is the “Year of the Bird.” We plan to focus on the importance of setting aside habitat for birds. To do this, we will highlight our local reserved habitat including Siletz Bay National Wildlife Refuge, Cascade Head Marine Reserve, Cascade Head Management Area, the Salmon River Estuary, and the city’s Open Spaces. We will also emphasize ways that people can provide habitat in their own backyards.
