I will be visiting the El Zapotal community on Wednesday October 28th to train local birding guides to lead tours and to introduce them to the Ebird App and Merlin to record bird species in their area. This is the beginning of a long-term program of at least two years.
In October 28 we spent about three hours introducing two local guides to ebird
We started gertting familiar with the eBird webiste to create accounts logg in, uploading photos to name a few then dowload the app to the local guides smartphones, they got familiar with creating new spots, birds list, upload data to the site then got a birding walk to start recording list in the Guazapa trail Sitio El Zapotal https://ebird.org/hotspot/L2467250.
The guides were also learning guiding skills to lead non biriding tours plus interpretation for future nature walks, they also were taking pictures with a digital camera they have and Digiscoping
