3rd Grade Field Trip: Bird Migration and Beach Clean-Up

Third graders have  been investigating school-wide waste.   They recently participated in a school cafeteria waste audit and are learning about the harmful impacts that waste (especially plastic pollution) has on the Salish Sea ecosystem and for migratory birds globally.   We will be partnering with North Cascades Audubon and RE Sources for Sustainable Communities on a field day to a local beach to clean-up waste, obsere birds through scopes and play a bird migration game, "Migration Headache,"
