Detroit Lakes Festival of Birds

25th annual bird migration celebration in Detroit Lakes Minnesota. This diversity-rich area is in a unique transition of three biomes - tall grass prairie, hardwood forests and conifer forests. Add in several wetlands and lakes results in more than 275 species recorded each spring. Birding by pontoon kicks off the event Thursday, followed by morning birding in the field with experienced leaders on Friday and Saturday. Carrol Henderson presents Hummingbirds of the Americas on Friday evening.
