El sábado 14 de mayo, será un día muy especial para nosotros, pues celebraremos el #GlobalBigDay y el #DíaMundialDeLasAvesMigratorias con un fantástico #RallyDeAves, en colaboración diversos grupos y clubes de observación de aves de #TuxtlaGutiérrez, en el #RíoSabinal.
Esta actividad tiene como objetivo generar datos que nos permitan conocer mejor las poblaciones de las aves durante un momento crucial de su migración latitudinal: el regreso a sus sitios de reproducción en el hemisferio norte. De este modo, se invita a toda persona a salir a observar, identificar y registrar las aves de su localidad, ingresando sus listados a la plataforma eBird, del Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
Durante 90 minutos, tres equipos de ciudadanos recorreremos distintos espacios a lo largo del Río Sabinal: Joyyo Mayu, Arboledas y Centro, registrando la mayor cantidad de aves posibles, posteriormente, compararemos, analizaremos y reflexionaremos cómo la infraestructura urbana y la diversidad de paisajes afectan -positiva o negativamente- a las aves en nuestra ciudad.

Saturday, May 14, will be a very special day for us: we will celebrate the #GlobalBigDay and the #WorldMigratoryBirdDay with a fantastic #RallyForTheBirds, in collaboration with birdwatching clubs from #TuxtlaGutiérrez, in the #RíoSabinal.
This activity aims to generate data that will allow us to better understand the populations of birds during a crucial moment in their latitudinal migration: the return to their breeding sites in the northern hemisphere. Everyone is invited to go out and submitt their birding lists to eBird.
During 90 minutes, three teams of citizens will visit different spaces along the Sabinal River: Joyyo Mayu, Arboledas, and Centro, registering as many birds as possible. Then we will compare, analyze and reflect on how urban infrastructure and the diversity of natural landscapes -positively or negatively- to the birds in our city.
