Saturday, May 11, World Migratory Bird Day, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. "Migrate" through learning stations and activities at the Zoo today to learn about focusing on spring bird migrations, conservation programs, and how you can help protect them! Meet our American Kestrel Monitoring program researcher, make observations at our bird blind, and learn about different bird feeders to attract a variety of birds to your home!

Grand Isle Migratory Bird Celebration

The annual Grand Isle Migratory Bird Celebration takes place Friday to Sunday, April 12, 13, 14, 2019 throughout the town of Grand Isle.

“After a long flight across the Gulf of Mexico, migrating birds flock to Grand Isle to rest after their difficult journey. The island has become one of the best places in the world to see the variety of species flying north,” said Grand Isle Mayor David Camardelle. “The Migratory Bird Festival not only celebrates their arrival but provides easy viewing access to visitors.”

WMBD is a holiday that celebrates the migration of nearly 350 species of migratory birds between nesting habitats in North America and non-breeding grounds in Latin America, Mexico and the Caribbean.  Join us to celebrate and learn more about migratory bird conservation and how you can help.  Keeper chats, crafts and face painting are just some of the activities.  You can also participate in our 5th annual Community Art Show.  Animal themed works of art will be hung at the zoo during the duration of the event, and anyone bringing a piece to hang will get free admission.  All activities are

World Migratory Bird Day at the Lincoln Park Zoo

The Lincoln Park Zoo will be hosting a day to celebrate the migration of nearly 350 species of migratory birds from wintering sites to summer nesting sites. International Migratory Bird Day will be held on Saturday, May 11 from 1pm-4pm.  Visitors can learn about birds and bird conservation through information, activities and games throughout the zoo.

Family Nature Night: All About Birds

Family Nature Night aims to engage Norfolk area families in natural play. The Outdoor Classroom offers fort building, tree climbing, water play, music and dancing, a chance to get muddy and much more. Join us as we celebrate International Migratory Bird Month.
