On the occasion of World Migratory Day, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is raising national awareness on the importance of migratory birds for the ecosystem.

Earth Hour WMBD Online Concert

WWF-Hong Kong has celebrated Earth Hour 2022 featuring "Wetland" as the theme, calling for the public to change their habits for the habitats. To celebrate the upcoming WMBD, maintain the momentum of Earth Hour and continue to raise awareness on wetland conservation, WWF-Hong Kong has partnered with Commercial Radio to present an online concert featuring 11 Hong Kong celebrities spreading positive conservation message through their music. The concert is scheduled at 8:30pm on May 14.

Reopening of Preston's Pad in celebration of World Migratory Bird Day

Join us at the Lehigh Valley Zoo on this Saturday, May 14 to celebrate the reopening of Preston’s Pad on World Migratory Bird Day! Sample eco-conscious Bird Friendly Coffee while learning about native habitats and the conservation of songbirds and pollinators. You can even learn how to create your own native habitat in your back yard! PPL Electric Utilities will be on site for a native plants giveaway while supplies last, and Edge of the Woods Native Plants will be on site with messaging about the importance of native plants and habitats.

Celebración del Día Mundial de las aves migratorias en la Sierra Gorda

This is the first festival celebrated at the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve, the program will be aimed at all ages. Opening with birdwatching in a Ramsar Site "La Presa Jalpan", then a photographic, and artistic exposition (drawings and sculptures made by children and youngsters), conversation with experts on the subject, and finishing with a documentary about birds.

World Migratory Bird Day

Wildlife Science and Conservation Center is a leading nature conservation and research organization in Mongolia, and we always considered the World Migratory Bird Day as an important annual event for our public engagement and education. We regularly celebrated the WMBD with the support from EAAFP and other partners. In 2022, we are planning to host WMBD events at two bird ringing stations located eastern and eastern Mongolia. These ringing stations are run by WSCC and dedicated to the songbird migration monitoring and public awareness for Mongolia.

World Migratory Bird Day 2022 in Indonesia

HIMPUS (Poultry Lovers Student Association) is an organization of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Syiah Kuala University, which is engaged in the development and observation of birds in Aceh, Indonesia. HIMPUS has focused on protecting migratory birds in Indonesia since 2014 by carrying out various public awareness efforts.

Young Generation for Migratory Bird Conservation Challenges

On April 1, the NGO ECO-CARE launched a contest with 17 questions about birds. Students can pick up the form from their teacher, fill in the answers, and bring them back to the same teacher. On April 20, we will collect the forms for correction by school. A transparent draw will be held in each school to select the top 5 students. After the draw, the top 5 students will simulate a training on the answers and a mixed team (NGO ECO-CARE and teachers of the school) will now select the top 2 students and those who explain better.

Primera Feria de Turismo Rural Suchitoto, El Salvador

Suchitoto is one of the most important tourist destinations in central El Salvador. Around the city there are rural communities where visitors can take different kinds of tours like horse back rides, hiking and trekking, learning history about the civil war, and boat trips in the nearby Ramsar site and IBA of Cerro Grande to name a few. Our focus is to spread the word about birding tours delivered by local birding tour guides who live in the communities of San Jose Palo Grande and Sitio El Zapotal.

Migratory Bird Day Celebration Denver Parks

Denver Parks and Recreation/Open Space program will be hosting World Migratory Bird Day at Cheesman Park on Friday, May 13, 2022 - 10:00am to 3:00pm. Denver's Open Space, along with our conservation partners, will provide educational and interpretive displays to entertain both kids and adult of all ages. There will be displays from various bird conservation agencies providing interactive activities, bird and nature walks, crafts, bring out the awareness and interest in bird conservation and habitat issues around the world.
