Bird and education of Kepak Sayap study club

Introducing us is an organization engaged in the field of bird protection in Indonesia, especially in Mount Lawu (more in Central Java) and its surroundings, our name is Kepak Sayap from Sebelas Maret University Surakarta, Indonesia. WORLD MIGRATORY BIRD DAY is celebrated every May and October. This agreement was made by the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS) and the Africa-Eurasian Migratory Waterbird Agreement (AEWA). Many species of birds move over long distances and Indonesia as a country traversed by migratory birds, ranging from swallows to birds of prey (raptors). In commemoration of our WMBD which conducts educational activities for school children, we teach how to conserve birds, because birds are an important aspect of the environment.  We also teach how to improve birds´ habitat, because where birds live is no less important to be maintained as an effort to increase success in conservation. Activities carried out by other wing organizations are distributing posters which in this poster provide information to the general public about the migration carried out by birds, through these posters it is hoped that the community is engaged especially students who are more concerned with the birds. We also conduct bird watching activities in the climbing area as a step we take for birds, activities carried out there are watching, listening, collecting bird data, and taking trash along the road while watching birds on Mount Lawu. For this May, we only did socialization through the posters we made because of the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, but we remain excited in our efforts to understand migratory bird days in the world. We will add activities in October, hopefully after covid-19 ends.
