Festival de aves migratorias "Sierra de Guadalupe"

Realization of a festival, which will be open to the public with cultural activities, as well as workshops in reference to the World Migratory Bird Day, to be carried out in 2 universities located between the municipalities of Tultitlán and Coacalco in the State of Mexico as part of its activities related to Natural Sciences: The festival will be presented to people who can relate the "World Migratory Bird Day" with the central theme "dark nights, safe migrations" on environmental and cultural issues (plastic arts, literature, music, dance, theater, etc) from the perspective of bird conservation. These activities aim to promote the importance and environmental protection of birds, as well as their integration and importance in the culture of caring for the environment. Bird monitoring in the Sierra de Guadalupe State Park, in the Tultitlán section. Within the environmental-cultural educational activities established in the university facilities, all those who participate will be invited to bird watching and monitoring activities in the Sierra de Guadalupe state park. These activities aim to reinforce the interest and knowledge that the participants acquired during the environmental-cultural educational activities carried out during the World Migratory Bird Day festivities. For activities related to caring for the environment, it is contemplated to participate in conjunction with the Festival "Celebration for the Protected and Conserved Areas of Latin America and the Caribbean" that will take place on October 17, 2022, which is an activity within the framework of the evaluation process of the Well-being Areas proposed by different organizations such as the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP) in Mexico. Festivals where the teaching material of Environment for the Americas will be mainly used, as well as the games provided for the younger audience. Considering the size of the institutions that will host these activities, a maximum influx of 400 people per event is expected. The dates contemplated for the migratory bird festival are: October 15 and/or 16, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 11:00 – 11:45 hrs CONFERENCE ON GENERALITIES OF BIRDS. 13:00 – 13:45 hrs CONFERENCE ON BIRD MIGRATION. 12:00 - 12:45 PROJECTIONS 11:00 – 15:00 SECTION 2: WORKSHOPS Several workshops will be held with their own material and with material provided by the Urban Birds Program (PAU), as well as material provided by the Environmental “Enviroment for the Americas” of the World Migratory Bird Day (DMAM). There will be activities with plastic arts for the youngest, as well as workshops involving other arts, such as literature, creation of costumes with recycled material. Workshop for the use of bird manuals or apps (e-Bird, Merlin, Naturalista) for data collection in bird monitoring. Bird watching, where students will be invited to be part of a bird troop (10 people) for bird monitoring in Sierra de Guadalupe (Tultitlán section). as well as material provided by Environmental “Enviroment for the Americas” of the World Migratory Bird Day (DMAM).
