Speech, essay writing and drawing competition among the students of different schools and colleges will be held which will be finalized on 11 May 2013. Thereafter Bird Watching Event will be held at Taunsa Barrage Wildlife Sanctuary Kot Addu on 12 May 2013.

In Sri Lanka, the bird migration starts on August and ends in April. But majority of the birds migrate during Sept and October, so with aim of raising awareness on bird migration, a lecture has been organized by Field Ornithology Group. Sri Lanka's eminent ornithologist Prof.Sarath Kotagama who has also appointed as the president of BirdLife Asia will be talking on Waders and Other Migrants visiting Sri Lanka.

"World Migratory Bird Day", the purpose is to raise public awareness of protection of migratory birds, to promote global bird protection. May 11, 2013 "World Migratory Bird Day", "Let birds fly" charity fund joint cross-border artists Lin Weijun, Galaxy SOHO Square in Beijing launched the "home" performance art devices, called rational process of urbanization, the habitat of migratory birds reserved survival of the land.

On each day 40 learners (Grades 4 - 6) and their teachers will join the volunteers from BirdLife Port Natal and the Durban Botanic Gardens to learn about birds, how they use wetlands, how they link different wetlands (e.g. the White-winged Flufftail is a very rare bird that migrates between the wetlands of Ethiopia and those of South Africa, the only two places on earth where this species occurs) and different countries. They will also get the opportunity to watch birds through binoculars and bird scopes - an activity that is usually greatly enjoyed by all.

A round table discussion was held between bird watchers conservationists and nature lovers for possible threats to the migratory birds in and around Jamnagar and for possible policy level interventions to be planned.

Central Asia Flyway Convention and India's active participation in its deliberations were also discussed and it was recommended that the foundation should actively participate in the same.
