Family orientated event to raise awareness of migration and bird identification.

In this event PWLS will celebrate World Migratory Birds Day (WMBD) in Jericho for two days. This event will include the subjects of Migratory Soaring Birds & Tourism, Migratory Soaring Birds & Waste Management and Migratory Soaring Birds & Agriculture. PWLS will organize this event in Jericho for more awareness of these subjects under the motto of: Migratory Birds and People-Together through time.

An afternoon of celebrating local resident and migratory birds (1PM - 4PM EST). An Eagle Dance presentation at 1:00PM. A live Birds of Prey program at 2:30PM. Childrens activities, crafts, and giveaways. Free and Open to the Public.

Join the Migratory Bird Day Committee for this wonderful day of celebrating the birds! Early morning bird walks begin at 6:30 AM and continue throughout the day with hike leaders on hand for family bird walks. Other activities include bird art with Jane Beasley, bird photography with Kenton Rowe, live birds, origami, face painting and tattoos, build your own bird house, watch the herons in their nests, and decorate your own bird cookie! The Performance Tent schedule is filling up with outstanding performances throughout the day!

Join us for the Long Point Birdathon Weekend

Join us for the 2012 Baillie Birdathon, the oldest sponsored bird count in North America, raising money for bird research and conservation. The challenge is to identify as many bird species as possible within a 24-hour period, during the month of May. The money raised benefits Bird Studies Canada, the James L. Baillie Memorial Fund, and participating migration monitoring stations and conservation organizations (designated by participants to receive a portion of funds raised).

It is a one day celebration and at least 350-450 school children are invited to participate.Emphasis is on the cultural, social, historic, economic and spiritual relationship between birds and people.

School children would be spreading the conservation message by showcasing Botswana’s diverse culture through songs, dances and drama.

1. Conducting bird watching at city parks of Purwokerto
2. Distributing awareness materials (stickers, leaflet)
3. Publish press release to newspaper media (local, regional and national)

Celebrate the return of our feathered friends! May 12 is the USFWS's International Migratory Bird Day and the United Nations Environmental Program's (UNEP) World Migratory Bird Day. Join CRD Regional Parks, Rocky Point Bird Observatory and the Victoria Natural History Society to learn more about the journey that birds take from their summer and winter homes. This free drop-in event offers engaging activities for birders of all ages, expertise and abilities.
