World Migratory Bird Day Seminar 2016

Dubai Municipality's Environment Department will be hosting a seminar on the 10th of May 2016 to celebrate World Migratory Bird Day 2016, inviting professionals and university students to attend lectures and interactive workshops.

National Workshop on occasion of the World Migratory Bird Day - ‘The Importance of Wetlands for Migratory Birds’

A national workshop will be held to mark the World Migratory Bird Day in the People`s Republic of Korea. The purpose is to raise awareness on the importance of migratory bird conservation and their habitat within policy makers and stakeholders. Several domestic and international experts will hold presentation about topics related to the purpose of the WMBD.

Topics include

- The importance of Wetlands for the East Asian-Australasian Flyway

- Migratory Bird Reserves and their management in the DPRK

We need migratory birds as spring heralds, not killed and caged

Natural History Museum for the first time organize World Migratory Bird Day. It has been planned to do some workshops and quiz with school children during the day. In the evening we will have lectures about bird migration in all its beauty and about threats that birds faces during the migration by scientists involved in bird protection in Serbia.

An event will be organised on 10th of May 2016 on the topic of world migratory  day and threats to migratory birds by the impacts of climate change 

 

"Illegal Killing of Migratory Birds" Educational Lecture in Dsegh Village, Armenia

 

For many years Armenian Society for the Protection of Birds NGO (BirdLife in Armenia) has participated in World Migratory Bird Day campaign and has organised various events, such as educational lectures, birdwatching trips, movie presentations and many other activities related to the topic of Migratory Birds.

This year, our team made a decision to organise an Educational Lecture in Nature Visitor Center in Dsegh Village (Lori Province, northern part of Armenia).

Nature Iraq Organization, will celebrate this year's WMBD in the National Park as the area is one of the most important wetlands in the Middle East and the globe that receives many migratory and threatened bird species. 
An educational lecture about 2016 theme will be given to audience representing youth, NGOs, activists and other stakeholder from the National Park in Southern Iraq. In addition to the theme, the lecture will include a brief about the use of field equipment and awareness about the sensitive hotspots and species that require special conservation attention a long with talks about the importance of the area in general for the next generation.

Parco Nord Milano is a regional park in the city of Milan. For this event, we planned the following: educational activities for students on Friday (13-05-2016); birdwatching, showing of an unreleased documentary (movie) about birds migrating over Parco Nord Milano and the surrounding areas, an exhibition on dangers and illegal hunting on flyways and scientific lectures on Saturday (14-05-16); biking, photo exhibition and educational activities for children on Sunday (15-05-16).

We will celebrate the 10. anniversary of Aras River Bird Banding, Research, and Education Center with bird banding demonstration, birdwatching, a big day attempt, a press conference and our campaign to www.savearas.org from the pointless Tuzluca Dam.
