A series of mini-webinars organized by AAO/BirdLife in Tunisia

This is what Association "Les Amis des Oiseaux" (AAO/BirdLife in Tunisia) will make you discover through a series of mini-webinars broadcasted between October 10 and 31, 2020 on Zoom and on Facebook. Celebrating World Migratory Bird Day 2020

Dubai Gem private school celebrated world migratory bird day on the 7th of October in order to raise awareness about the need to conserve birds and their natural habitats. This initiative was led by the students of year 13 who then went on to educate the younger grades about this crucial matter. Amongst other things, the students were taught about the origins of this day, and the reasons for its celebration. This was followed by numerous educational activities such as a word scramble and a quiz competition which the students thoroughly enjoyed, and actively participated in.

The Sinis area has been, since long time ago, a crucial area for migration routes not only for birds but also for us. We'll be going on an excursion through an important archeologic area and observe the biodiveristy in the area to analyze which species are crossing the sardinian wetlands in the season and explain to visitors the particularities and curiositis about the birds that live or pass through western Sardinia.

Inspiring Actions for Migratory Shorebird Conservation - Birdlife International Webinar

Many migratory waterbirds in the East Asian-Australasian Flyway are in steep decline. Shorebirds are among the hardest hit, and species such as the Spoon-billed Sandpiper have declined by nearly 90% within the past two decades. Many more have lost a great deal of their habitat all over our flyway and are on the brink of extinction. But there is still a window of opportunity to take action to save our shorebirds.

Learn and meet the migrants

Green Planet is organizing a classroom presentations and a birdwatching session at an urban wetland for the undergraduates of the coastal resources management programme of the Ocean University of Sri Lanka.  The organizer is a freshly formed biodiversity conservation group comprising of experienced naturalists and ecologists from around the country.

Célébration de la Journée Mondiale des Oiseaux Migrateurs(JMOM) 2020 à Kamsar et Sangaredi

From 3 to 6 October 2020 in the two localities of the CBG concession, first in Sangaredi and then in Kamsar, Region of Boké, Guinea Republic, WMBD will be celebrated through "face to face" and "radio" sensitization around species' migratory challenges first and second hand through a "birdwatching competition" with employees and students from surounding schools. The first three birdwatchers from each observer category will win some gift, such as books, T-shirts, caps and other goodies.

The Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) is hosting a Zoom Webinar with video presentation on how birds connect our world, educational activities, quiz competition and photo contest among participants.

Día de las Aves Migratorias en Ecuador

El Día Mundial de las Aves Migratorias se va a celebrar en Salinas Ecuador el domingo 04 de octubre de 2020. Los organizadores somos el Programa de Conservación de Aves Playeras de Ecuador de la Fundación Aves y Conservación. Tenemos planificado una mañana lúdica de títeres, música y arte. Mientras que por la tarde realizaremos un ciclo de charlas sobre humedales críticos para aves migratorias en Ecuador. El evento es ONLINE y semi presencial con las medidas correspondientes por Covid 19.
