Volunteers from St. Mary's Island Wildlife Conservation Society will be on the island Nature Reserve with a scope for visitor engagement operations. See what birds you can find and ask any questions about where our wintering birds are going and what new spring arivels we have.

Celebrating WMBD

The Libyan Society for birds (LSB) intended to celebrate the World Migratory Birds Day in colaboration with the Department of Zoology, Faculty of Science at the University of Tripoli. The event will be an educational activity and bird watching during the event. The participants will be the members of LSB and post-graduate students. 

Reopening of Preston's Pad in celebration of World Migratory Bird Day

Join us at the Lehigh Valley Zoo on this Saturday, May 14 to celebrate the reopening of Preston’s Pad on World Migratory Bird Day! Sample eco-conscious Bird Friendly Coffee while learning about native habitats and the conservation of songbirds and pollinators. You can even learn how to create your own native habitat in your back yard! PPL Electric Utilities will be on site for a native plants giveaway while supplies last, and Edge of the Woods Native Plants will be on site with messaging about the importance of native plants and habitats.

International Migratory Bird Day

Today is International Migratory Bird Day, and we are celebrating with a day that's all about the birds! At 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., we'll have a presentation about migratory birds followed by a short bird walk. Weather-permitting, we will have bird-themed craft and activity stations set up outside. Stop by anytime during program hours to learn more about the birds that migrate through our region during this time of year. Current public health guidelines will be followed. FREE. All Ages.
